Lady Capulet’s tattoo
Lady Capulet is a character who does not show many feelings.
The falling petals. The Petals represent her relationship with her daughter. She does make an effort to reach her daughter but Juliet is much closer to her nurse. She thinks she should get married like like she had to. Shes not really the best mom either. When Juliet looks to her for help with her father she says, “Talk not to me, for I’ll not say a word: Do as thou wilt, for I have done with thee” (A. III S. V). she will not help Juliet at least pause the wedding.
The dotted rose. The dotted rose in the heart shows how she cared for Tybalt. When Romeo killed Tybalt she wanted revenge against him. She tells the Prince, “I beg for justice, which thou, prince, must give; Romeo slew Tybalt, Romeo must not live” (A.III S.I). She loved her cousin and wanted him avenged. The black line through the rose shows her grief when he is killed.
The heart. The heart shows how her and her husband get along. They get along pretty well teasing each other as they prepare for Juliet’s wedding. She is an obedient wife. In the beginning she does tell him he needs a crutch not a sword at his age. “A crutch, a crutch – why call you for a sword?”(A.1 S.1). She doesn’t want him to fight and hurt himself.
The red and black. The red and black represent how she feels about the Montague’s especially after Romeo killed Tybalt. She despises the Montague’s and wants romeo dead for killing Tybalt.
Final Product. These symbols and colors come together to represent Lady Capulet and how she feels.
